# Subscriptions

> Filter and manage live trade subscriptions.

Send a JSON text message on an open socket:

```json theme={null}
{"action":"subscribe","trader":"11111111111111111111111111111111"}
```

Or filter by token mint:

```json theme={null}
{"action":"subscribe","mint":"TokenkegQfeZyiNwAJbNbGKPFXCWuBvf9Ss623VQ5DA"}
```

These addresses illustrate syntax; they do not guarantee trading activity. Addresses must be case-sensitive base58-encoded 32-byte Solana addresses. Wrapped SOL and USDC cannot be used as mint filters. A trader filter matches the decoded trader; a mint filter matches either normalized token leg.

Starter and Growth require a trader or mint filter. Enterprise can specify either, both, or neither. When both are supplied, both must match. There are no chain or terminal filters.

A successful request returns:

```json theme={null}
{"type":"subscribed","subscriptionId":"sub_..."}
```

Each connection can have one active subscription. Filters cannot be changed in place. To change them, unsubscribe with the ID returned on that connection, then subscribe again:

```json theme={null}
{"action":"unsubscribe","subscriptionId":"sub_..."}
```

The server responds with `{"type":"unsubscribed","subscriptionId":"sub_..."}`. Closing the socket also ends its subscription. Unsubscribing discards queued trades; subscriptions and their IDs do not survive a disconnect or restart.
